• Further changes to Whistleblowing Laws Announced

    The government has announced further amendments to the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill, to stengthen the protection available to whistleblowers.

    The proposed amendments will:-

    • make employers vicariously liable for detriments by one worker towards another because they have made a protected disclosure

    • but introduce a ‘statutory defence’, to protect employers who take all reasonable steps to prevent such detrimental action (thus mirroring the equality legislation).
