SUMMARY:Managing Conflicting Religious or Political Beliefs
DESCRIPTION:  \nManaging conflict at work appears to be harder than ever in what feels like an increasingly charged political climate. \n  \nWe have been encouraged to “bring our whole selves to work” but what if our “ whole selves” are entirely at odds with our work colleagues? How can managers ensure that those with conflicting beliefs feel safe and are treated fairly and what if any role do they have in resolving conflicts or disputes between employees resulting from differing opinions or beliefs? Where do employers draw the line between tolerance or neutrality of different beliefs and/or allyship with one over another? \n  \nWhat guidance does the law provide on how we manage competing beliefs and how do we know what expressions of those beliefs are lawful and where competing beliefs are present in the workforce how do know which belief or right trumps another? \n  \nA minefield? Yes\, but there is useful guidance available. \n  \nThis online workshop will provide attendees with an outline of the current state of law as well as a practical and useful  guidance with examples allowing for what will hopefully be an engaging discussion with fellow employers experiencing the same challenges as you!

SUMMARY:Training Event – Get Ready for the Changes to Unfair Dismissal Law
DESCRIPTION:As the Employment Rights Bill makes its way through Parliament we strongly advise employers to prepare for the most radical of the changes: the removal of the 2 year continuous employment eligibility criteria to claim unfair dismissal. \n“Excellent summary of an important topic. To the point and very informative. Zoe provides her audience with the basic understanding needed to cope with complex legal issues.” \nA key part of this preparation will be tightening up on probationary periods and managing those who do not meet performance levels – at a very early stage so that such dismissals will come within the probationary period exemption. \nThis training is intended to prepare HR and Line Management to: \n\nManage and monitor probationary periods successfully;\nDesign and manage fair performance criteria; and\nUnderstand the difference between capability and conduct; and\nSpot complicating factors such as discrimination.

SUMMARY:Training Event – New Duty to Prevent Sexual Harassment at Work
DESCRIPTION:On the 26th October a new law requiring all employers to take reasonable steps to protect employees from sexual harassment at work takes effect. \nFailure to take such steps could result in an uplift of uncapped damages in any Employment Tribunal award and gives the Equality and Human Rights Commission (ECHR) new enforcement and investigatory powers. \nOne way employers can demonstrate that they have taken reasonable steps is to undertake training (see ACAS Guidance). \nWe are pleased to offer a 1 hour training session covering: \n\nWhat is the legal definition of “sexual harassment”?\nWhat should your sexual harassment policy look like/contain?\nWhat training should you offer your managers/line reports?\nWhat should you do if an allegation of sexual harassment is made?\n\nThe training will take place \n\nby Teams\n12 noon on Thursday 7th November 2024\nand is £60 (FREE to retained clients) go here to book your place (REF SHT).
